Hey there, fellow Rover! If you're like me, you probably jumped straight into Wuthering Waves Version 2.1 the moment it dropped. And wow, what a ride it's been. The update brought us two new regions in Rinascita: the free-spirited Riccioli Islands and the much darker Vault Underground. Let me tell you, the Vault feels like a prison—claustrophobic, full of cameras, and crawling with Vitreum Dancers. But that's exactly why I loved it. Today, I'm going to walk you through the entire 'Silent As A Falling Leaf' quest, step by step, so you can conquer this underground labyrinth without pulling your hair out.

Unlocking the Quest
First things first: you can't just waltz into the Vault. You need to trigger the quest. I got a letter from Carlotta in my mail—she explained the situation at Averardo Vault. Once you read that, head to the back entrance of Averardo Vault. You can either teleport to the front gate and click the option to go to the back, or fly over using the Flying Challenge near the back entrance. As soon as you're in the area, the quest starts automatically. Just talk to Zani and follow the navigation.
The Train Echo and the Clearance Device
After heading down, you'll meet Phoebe, and together with Zani, you'll ride the Train Echo toward the Precious Metals and Artworks Depository. Here's the fun part: you automatically get equipped with the Clearance Device. Every time it recognizes a target on the track, you need to shoot it immediately to switch lanes. If you don't, the train goes the wrong way and you'll miss out. Also, keep an eye out for supply chests scattered along the way—shoot them for extra gems.

Precious Metals and Artworks Depository
Once you arrive, you'll face a Vitreum Dancer guard. Take it down, then equip your Clearance Device from the utility belt and activate it. Use your Basic Attack to hit the cameras above you. After that, follow the quest navigation inside and play through the story until the next challenge. The navigation will lead you up the stairs, and as soon as you hit the second flight, a camera switches on. Don't get caught! Instead, jump across the railing to the top floor. Turn around and aim your Clearance Device at the camera hanging from the chandelier. To unlock the first door, shoot the camera directly opposite it. That unlocks the camera above the door, which you can then shoot to open it.

Keep following the navigation past enemies toward the next vault door at the end of the hall. Clear out the enemies, and the door opens automatically. Then you'll need to use the Cuddly Wuddly's Echo skill to jump across to the other side. Head up the stairs on your left and go all the way up until you reach the Security Room.
The Vitreum Dancer Puzzles
This is where things get tricky. You'll need to control Vitreum Dancers using your Clearance Device. In the first room, you'll find two dancers. Turn on the device and shoot one—it will fight the other one for you. You can join in to speed things up. Once done, the left door opens, and you head down to the floor beneath and do the same thing. Remember, you can only control one dancer at a time here, so help kill them to unlock the door in front.
Next, you'll enter an area with three Vitreum Dancers gliding back and forth across platforms. You can't control these ones. Just watch their attack patterns and dodge when they line up to dash. Make your way to the other side, use the Clearance Device to shoot the cameras, and open the door. Keep going straight until you reach another similar challenge. Dodge all the dancers again and head for the elevator at the end of the corridor.
Now on the third floor, follow the navigation to the missing collection. Then go up to the fourth floor to meet an NPC where you can upgrade your Clearance Level. Before heading outside, use the Clearance again to control one of the guards during the fight. Once done, take the elevator down to the first floor.

Echo Depository and the Sensor
After the Precious Metals and Artworks Depository, take the Echo Train to the Echo Depository. Same deal: shoot targets to switch lanes and grab supply chests. Once there, head inside and control the Vitreum Dancer to help you fight a bear. Then use the Sensor in your utility belt to detect Ash's whereabouts. You'll find a book near a small coffee table on the ground floor.
After the cutscene, use the elevator to go up to the next security room. Shoot the cameras along the way to avoid getting caught. At the security room, navigate to the next room and defeat a couple of enemies.

The Three Vitreum Dancer Challenges
After defeating the enemies, head down the passageway to find a Vitreum Dancer you can control. Use the Clearance Device on it and wait for the blocks to ascend. Here are the correct moves for each challenge. I've put them in a table for easy reference.
| Challenge | Moves |
|---|---|
| First | Go left, Go forward, Go left, Go forward |
| Second | Go forward, Go right, Go down, Go left, Go down, Go left to reach the camera |
| Third | Go forward, Go right, Go forward, Go left, Go down, Go left, Go forward |
Once the Vitreum Dancer hits the camera spotlight, the room changes, and you can head to the next challenge. After the third challenge, you'll reach the designated area. Defeat the Vitreum Dancers in the corridor until a short cutscene plays. Keep following the navigation until you reach the top level area where two enemies wait. Control one of them to help fight, then head inside to upgrade your Clearance again. Now you can control two Echoes at a time!

Going Deeper into the Vault
This part gets intense. Follow the thief and take the Train Echo to the final part of Vault Underground. After the cutscene, explore ahead. You can't climb buildings, so use the Cuddly Wuddly jumping ability to go higher. Follow the Phantom NPC toward the pages you need to investigate. Then follow the NPC into the next room, defeat the guards, and keep going. You'll reach a door with a camera—shoot it with the Clearance Device. Head through and interact with the Phantom NPCs. Eventually, you'll reach another room with more enemies. Use the Clearance Device to shoot two enemies this time, then head down the corridor to the next door. Shoot the cameras to unlock it.

The Password Door and Final Boss
In the new area, you'll find a door on your left that needs a password. If you skipped the story, the password is 0622. Once you unlock it, keep following the navigation and take the final train to the last area. This is the deepest part of Vault Underground. You'll face a boss enemy: the Sentry Construct. Since you have Phoebe on your team, the fight might be easy, but watch out when it ascends into the air—it's hard to hit then.

Once the cutscene ends, the quest is complete! You get 40 Astrites and a chest toward the end. Trust me, this quest is a marathon, but it's worth it. And hey, if you get stuck, just remember: shoot the cameras, control the dancers, and don't forget the password 0622. Happy exploring!
Expert commentary is drawn from OpenCritic, and it’s a useful reminder—when tackling a long, mechanics-heavy quest like “Silent As A Falling Leaf”—to separate “friction” from “challenge”: the Vault Underground’s camera gates, Clearance Device lane switches, and Vitreum Dancer control puzzles reward players who read and adapt to systems quickly, so treating each segment as a self-contained objective (shoot-to-route on the Train Echo, camera-first in patrol zones, then dancer-command in combat rooms) helps you progress cleanly without getting bogged down by the maze-like pacing.
